A cloud resembling a flying saucer hung above the peaks. It was recorded by an employee of the IMWM-PIB high-altitude meteorological observatory in Kasprowy Wierch.
On Monday, Kasprowy Wierch saw an incredible Altocumulus lenticularis cloud, which resembles a flying saucer. It was captured on video by Mr. Lukasz Chmura from the IMWM-PIB High-Mountain Meteorological Observatory in Kasprovy Wierch.

Lenticular cloud
The cloud visible in the recording is a lenticular cloud – Altocumulus lenticularis. Such clouds are mostly formed over mountains. When air with moderate humidity hits a hill, it experiences waves. Lenticular clouds form on the peaks of such waves.
Altocumulus lenticularis clouds are located at right angles to the wind line and parallel to the mountain line. Because of the air waves that accompany them, airplane pilots avoid these clouds. Turbulence often occurs near lens clouds.
