At a gas station on Radziminska street in Warsaw, one of the cars hit a gas dispenser, which started to flow out. A total of five cars were involved in the accident. According to Junior Brigadier Artur Kaminski of the Warsaw State Fire Service, two people were injured. Firefighters evacuated people staying at the station and a nearby restaurant and turned off the gas and electricity.
– At 18:46, the office of the City Headquarters of the State Fire Service received information about an accident involving a gas pump. Our actions included sending ten teams to the event, including a chemical team. Upon arrival, we actually confirmed that the gas was coming out of the distributor, it was completely damaged, the gas was coming out very violently – said Junior Brigadier Artur Kaminski, the press officer of the command of the Municipal State Fire Service in Warsaw one day. interview with TVN24.
Two people were injured
Firefighters added that two people were injured – one with a broken leg and another with a head injury. A total of five cars were involved in the accident.
– Our actions consisted of evacuating the injured people to a safe area. In addition, we evacuated the gas station and after a few moments we decided to evacuate the nearby McDonald's. The electricity was turned off at the station, then we managed to turn off the gas with the main safety valve and neutralize the line, he continued. The fireman admitted that “the incident looked very serious”. – The risk of explosion was very high. He added that gas was leaking heavily from the damaged dispenser.
He added that now it is not possible to say who caused the accident – it will be determined by the police.
