U.S. Acting Under Secretary for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs Jennifer R. Littlejohn recently visited Chennai for two days to engage with industry and academic representatives to advance U.S.-India environmental cooperation.
“U.S.-India collaboration in science and technology is critical to solving the world's greatest challenges, from protecting biodiversity to combating the climate crisis,” Littlejohn said.
She visited a US solar technology company's manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur. Littlejohn then toured facilities at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras Research Park dedicated to green technology and space startups, and participated in a roundtable discussion with green technology entrepreneurs to foster collaboration on environmental solutions.
According to a press release, she interacted with faculty and researchers at Anna University who are focused on leveraging climate modelling and strengthening community resilience strategies.
