The ADCC World Championships 2024 is fast approaching and grappling fans can feel it.
The ADCC World Championships will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 17th and 18th. The ADCC Worlds has been held since 1998, so it's an event with a long history.
It was the first time since 1999 that two different Americans had won in two different weight classes, and was also the first American to win at -99k.
This tournament was also the first time that Royle Gracie won his own division.

How does ADCC World work?
There are three ways to qualify for the ADCC World Championships: Athletes who have won or placed on the podium at the previous World Championships are automatically qualified, they can either win one of the continental qualifying events (held around the world) or receive an invitation.
The ADCC World Championships will feature 16 athletes in the men's division, including eight qualifiers, seven invitees, and a returning ADCC champion. The women's division will feature eight athletes, including four qualifiers, the defending champion, and three invitees.
The ADCC World Championships also operates in a bracket format starting with the round of 16, with the aim of the game being to win and advance to the next round.
