According to Agoda's summer booking data this year, the top five international routes are Bangkok in Thailand, Seoul in South Korea, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Singapore and Tokyo in Japan.
The rankings compare flights booked on Agoda between June and August 2024 with the same period in 2023.
Bangkok remains Agoda's top summer destination
Agoda's updated rankings highlight Bangkok, Seoul and Kuala Lumpur as the top choices for international travellers, underscoring the popularity of destinations within Asia Pacific during the summer.
Bangkok maintained its top spot as the top summer destination for the second year in a row. Seoul overtook Singapore to take second place, while Kuala Lumpur moved up from fourth to third place. Singapore is now in fourth place, and Tokyo has replaced Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in the top five.
The popularity of these destinations highlights the continued interest in vibrant cities like Bangkok, known for its unique blend of modernity and tradition. Seoul dazzles visitors with its technology and historic palaces, while Kuala Lumpur offers a dynamic mix of skyscrapers and cultural landmarks. Singapore's futuristic skyline and Tokyo's diverse districts also continue to draw travelers seeking both urban excitement and cultural heritage.
