Accel Shield 300 Technology
“Our Axelshield 300 technology is further proof of our commitment to supporting our customers in the transition to a bisphenol-free world. We are offering the market a more sustainable alternative with better performance that goes far beyond current regulations and which we believe will be a long-term solution,” explains Chris Bradford, marketing director for AkzoNobel's industrial coatings business.
Accelshield™ 300 is AkzoNobel's latest innovation in can coatings, designed to help customers adapt to changing regulatory requirements. The technology is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and major beverage brands, and complies with current and upcoming EU regulations restricting the use of intentionally added bisphenols such as bisphenol A (BPA) and bisphenol F (BPF). Regulatory approval ensures market acceptance and compliance.
Accelshield™ 300 not only increases production efficiency through rapid curing, reducing both energy costs and consumption, but has also been proven in lab and brand tests to deliver superior flavor performance compared to traditional market solutions. Another key advantage is its seamless integration into existing production lines.
Recent Launch of Accelshield™ 700
This new product launch follows the recent launch of Accelshield™ 700, a styrene- and bisphenol-free interior beverage can coating, as well as Accelstyle™ 100 and 200, overprint varnishes for two-piece aluminum beverage cans that are bisphenol-, styrene- and PFAS-free.
“We are using our expertise and experience to develop viable, safe technologies that ensure continuity of supply to keep canning and canning lines running. Our goal is to shape the future with industry stakeholders, helping them stay ahead of the curve and gain a competitive advantage,” Bradford added.
