Tomasz Schmidt, who has applied for political asylum in Belarus, resigned from his position as a judge in a communication. The National Prosecutor's Office indicted him in absentia on charges of espionage. An arrest warrant and a European arrest warrant were also issued for Mr. Schmidt.

At the same time, the former judge admitted that he now feels more Belarusian than Polish, and said that although various orders were issued against him, he had “not broken any laws”. I said no.

BELTA also reported on Friday that the Belarusian dictator signed a decree granting citizenship to 257 people from 16 countries, including Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Armenia and Georgia. There are 15 minors among the new citizens of Belarus.
