GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina health system is being recognized nationally for its practices and the quality of care.
ECU Health System says all nine hospitals received the “Get With the Guidelines” award in recognition of their commitment to modern procedures and quality care.
The health system, which treats patients with conditions including stroke, diabetes and heart attacks, said it was chosen because of the high quality of care its patients receive.
“ECU Health is honored to receive national recognition from the American Heart Association for our unwavering commitment to providing the highest level of health care to eastern North Carolina,” said Theresa Anderson, PhD, RN, NE-BC, senior vice president of quality at ECU Health. “These achievements reflect the dedication and expertise of our team who work tirelessly every day to provide the best possible care to patients across our health system. By adhering to the latest research-based guidelines, we not only improve outcomes for our patients, but also advance our mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”
Providers that consistently receive these awards experience improved patient outcomes and fewer readmissions, according to the announcement.
