The Vatican said the pope prayed in front of the painting of Sarus Poppli Romani (saving the Romans) on the eve of Palm on Sunday.
Francis placed a bouquet of white flowers.

Another surprise of Pope Francis
This is the third surprise from Francis this week. Francis is slowly recovering after severe pneumonia. Meanwhile, as the doctors have confirmed, he could die.
Previously, the Pope took the British royal couple in the Vatican, and also visited St. Peter’s Cathedral.
