PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — A man wanted for the murder of a woman in New Hampshire was shot by police and fell from a bridge on Interstate 95 between New Hampshire and Maine, authorities said Thursday. The Piscataqua River Bridge was closed for about seven hours but reopened Thursday morning, according to Maine State Police.
High winds, possibly tornado, derail 43 train cars in North Dakota
STEELE, N.D. (AP) — Strong winds derailed nearly 40 train cars in North Dakota, part of a storm that also triggered reports of five tornadoes in both states. Trains were stopped Wednesday night near the town of Steele, North Dakota, after a tornado warning was issued, BNSF Railway spokesman Kendall Sloan said. Strong winds, likely from a tornado, derailed 43 empty coal cars. No one was injured and there was no dangerous material inside the cars. BNSF cleanup crews were on the scene Thursday. Three possible tornadoes were reported in north-central South Dakota on Wednesday night, and two were reported in North Dakota, according to the National Weather Service.
Jaguar has told owners of its older I-Pace electric SUVs to park them outdoors due to the risk of battery fires.
DETROIT (AP) — Jaguar is urging owners of about 3,000 electric SUVs to park outdoors and away from buildings because of the risk of battery fires. The British automaker is recalling its 2019 model I-Pace SUVs, but a final solution has yet to be developed. As an interim measure, dealers will update software to limit battery charging to 80 percent of capacity. The company has previously recalled three times for the same issue, and all SUVs will require the new solution. Jaguar said three fires in the U.S. occurred after a previous software update for the vehicle. No injuries have been reported.

Strong waves may have capsized a replica Viking ship off the coast of Norway, police say.
COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Police said strong waves were likely the cause of the capsizing of a replica Viking ship off the coast of Norway earlier this week, killing one American, and described the incident as a “tragic accident” that will not be a criminal case. The wooden replica, called Nadhod, was leading an international team of six people on a crossing of the North Atlantic from the Faroe Islands to Norway. The vessel left the Faroe Islands, located halfway between Scotland and Iceland, on Saturday. It encountered strong winds and high waves and capsized late Tuesday off the coastal town of Stade. Five survivors were rescued, but a sixth drowned.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may not have had a prenuptial agreement, but you should consider one
NEW YORK (AP) — One surprising aspect of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's separation is the absence of any mention of a prenuptial agreement in her divorce filing. A prenuptial agreement is a legal document that outlines how a soon-to-be couple will divide their assets during the marriage and in the event of divorce. Although common among celebrities and very wealthy couples, divorce lawyer Rayford Dalton Palmer says even those who don't have the money should consider a prenuptial agreement. Experts say a prenuptial agreement should be discussed early in the marriage planning process.
A newborn rattlesnake born in a “mega burrow” in Colorado has been seen alive for the first time.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Colorado's “megaden” of hundreds of rattlesnakes is getting bigger as late summer approaches and babies are being born. Thanks to livestreamed video, scientists monitoring the den are learning more about the rattlesnakes, including how they care for their young. The rattlesnake den can house as many as 2,000 rattlesnakes at a time. Cal Poly researchers are also enlisting the public's help with tasks such as identifying the snakes. Project Rattlescome's latest highlight is dozens of baby rattlesnakes crawling among much larger adult rattlesnakes.
Tech Tip: How to make your device last longer
LONDON (AP) — If you want to make your new iPhone last as long as possible, you'd better take good care of it. People are now looking to hold on to their smartphones for longer, rather than constantly replacing them. To extend the lifespan of Apple and Android mobile devices, device makers are warning against charging or using them in extremely hot or cold temperatures. Get a sturdy case to cushion your phone if it's dropped and a screen protector to protect it from scratches. Regularly clean ports and sockets, which can collect lint and other debris. Make sure your operating system and apps are updated, which is now easier than ever, as phone makers such as Samsung are extending the time it takes to provide updates.
