LAS VEGAS (AP) — Atlanta rapper Lil Baby has been arrested in Las Vegas. He was taken into custody before dawn Monday after being found carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, police said, but authorities did not release other details. Lil Baby's lawyers say they are investigating why he was arrested despite having a valid concealed weapon permit in Georgia. Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones, has not been formally charged with the crime, which is a felony in Nevada. He was released from jail on bond and is scheduled to appear in Las Vegas court on Oct. 1.
Judge rules Utah mother and children's book author Kouri Richins will stand trial for husband's death
PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — A Utah mother of three who published a children's book about grief after her husband's death and was later accused of poisoning him will go on trial. Utah Judge Richard Mradzik handed down the ruling on the second day of Kouri Richins' preliminary hearing. The judge said prosecutors have presented enough evidence to proceed to a jury trial scheduled to begin April 28. Richins faces numerous felony charges for allegedly killing her husband, Eric Richins, with a lethal dose of fentanyl in March 2022 at their home in a small mountain town near Park City. She has always maintained her innocence.
Karen Reed is facing civil and murder charges in the death of her police officer boyfriend.
PLYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against Karen Reed and the two bars where she was drinking with her police officer boyfriend, John O'Keefe, the night he died. Reed has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting retrial on charges including second-degree murder in O'Keefe's death. A civil lawsuit filed by O'Keefe's family alleges that she hit him with her SUV in January 2022 and left him to die in the snow. It also alleges that the bars served her alcohol that night, even though Reed was clearly intoxicated. The lawsuit does not say how much alcohol O'Keefe was served that night before getting into Reed's SUV.
Tire explosion at Delta facility in Atlanta kills 2 workers, injures 1
ATLANTA (AP) — A tire exploded at a Delta Air Lines maintenance facility near Atlanta's airport, killing two workers and severely injuring a third. Delta said Tuesday it was working with authorities to investigate the incident. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration said it had opened an investigation. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Atlanta fire and police responded to the scene at a maintenance hangar near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport just after 5 a.m. Delta expressed heartbreak in a statement but provided few details about the accident.
Ancient tomb with vibrant murals opens to public in southern Israel
ASHKELON, Israel (AP) — Two nearly 2,000-year-old tombs with spectacular wall paintings are set to open to the public for the first time in southern Israel after meticulous conservation work. British archaeologists first discovered the sand-filled tombs in the 1930s and marveled at the colorful murals, depicting vibrant grape vines entwining around birds, animals and mythological characters, according to the Israel Antiquities Authority. Authority archaeologists say the tombs, located a few hundred meters from the coast, were likely the burial site of a Roman nobleman around 1,700 years ago, when Ashkelon was a Roman city. The tombs will be open to the public in a new archaeological park.
Injured, angry buffalo escapes in Iowa
PLEASANT HILL, Iowa (AP) — A buffalo is on the loose in an Iowa town, and police are warning residents that the buffalo is injured and aggressive. Police in Pleasant Hill, a Des Moines suburb, received a call Saturday about an animal in the road. It turned out to be a buffalo, and the owner told police the animal was aggressive. That proved to be true when police and an animal rescue and control group began trying to contain the buffalo. Police shot and killed the buffalo, but it escaped. Police are using drones and ATVs to search for it. As of Tuesday morning, the animal was still at large.

Suspected cyber attack causes massive internet outage at Seattle airport
SEATTLE (AP) — What appears to be a cyberattack caused internet, phone, email and other systems at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to go offline for a third day Monday. The Port of Seattle Authority is investigating the outage and working to restore full service. Aviation Commissioner Lance Little said Sunday that officials are working around the clock to bring the system back online. But it was still down as of late Monday morning. Airlines warned passengers not to check bags if possible, and the airport urged travelers to use airline mobile apps to access boarding passes and find gate numbers. Officials have not released details about the full extent of the outage.
