Apple and Google have removed TikTok from their stores in the United States, reports CNBC.
The removal of TikTok from the Apple Store (App Store) and Google Play, where Android apps are available, means that US residents can no longer download this popular service.
This is the result of a law that Congress passed in April last year, forcing TikTok to escape Chinese control. Then it was supported by the vast majority of congressmen of both parties. On Friday, the US Supreme Court rejected TikTok’s challenge to the regulation.
“Application not available”
“In the App Store, where you could previously download TikTok, a message appeared that the app could not be downloaded,” CNBC reported.
“This app is not currently available in your country or region,” says Apple.
“Sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server” – this is the message that Internet users will see when they find TikTok from Google Play.

What will Trump do?
“The TikTok ban has gone into effect in the United States. This means you can’t use TikTok right now,” said a message on the screen of users in the United States who currently want to use the app.
The company further wrote in a statement that “we are happy that President Trump has indicated that he will work on a solution to restore TikTok’s operations.”
Donald Trump, who takes office on Monday, said on Saturday that he would “most likely” suspend a potential ban on TikTok in the US for 90 days.
– A 90 day delay is something that is more likely to be done because it is reasonable. If I’m going to do it, I’ll probably announce it on Monday, the president-elect said in an interview with NBC.
At the same time, during his first term (2017-2021), Trump himself tried to force the Chinese owner of the program ByteDance to sell TikTok by executive order.
About 170 million Americans use TikTok.
