Apple today released a new update to Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser first introduced in March 2016. Apple designed Safari Technology Preview to allow users to test features planned for future release versions of the Safari browser.
Safari Technology Preview 202 includes fixes and updates for accessibility, CSS, editing, JavaScript, media, rendering, SVG, Web Animations, Web APIs, Web Assembly, and WebDriver.
The current Safari Technology Preview release is compatible with machines running macOS Sonoma and macOS Sequoia Beta. Due for release this fall, macOS Sequoia is the latest version of macOS that Apple is currently in development.
The Safari Technology Preview update is available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences or System Settings to all users who have downloaded the browser from Apple's website. Full release notes for the update are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.
The purpose of Apple's Safari Technology Preview is to gather developer and user feedback on the browser development process. Safari Technology Preview runs side-by-side with the existing Safari browser and is designed for developers, but you don't need a developer account to download and use it.
