Apple (AAPL) is set to hold its iPhone 16 launch event on Monday, September 9, where it will unveil not only its next-generation smartphones but also a new Apple Watch and AirPods. Could this new technology breathe new life into Apple stock?
Bob O'Donnell, president and principal analyst at TECHnalysis Research, appears on Market Domination to discuss Apple's upcoming tech event, what it means for the tech giant in the coming quarters and into 2025, whether the iPhone upgrade cycle can reinvigorate the stock, and more.
“I think this will work out. People aren't really excited about upgrading their iPhones anymore because they all look the same and are pretty similar. It's hard to tell the latest generations apart and I think eventually Apple will come out with a foldable (phone) like we've seen from Samsung (005930.KS) and Google (GOOG, GOOGL),” O'Donnell told Yahoo Finance. “But in the meantime, I think it will work out. But again, the focus will be on software rather than hardware this time.”
