Sweden's Mondo Duplantis improved his own pole vault world record by clearing 6.26 metres on his second attempt at the Silesian Diamond League meet on Sunday.
Duplantis' jump, beating the 6.25m he set while defending his gold medal at the Paris Olympics earlier this month, marked his 10th world record and the third time he has improved his own record this year.
The 24-year-old Duplantis thrilled the Stade de France crowd at the Paris Olympics by breaking a ninth world record, but there was always the impression that Duplantis's exploits were not over yet.
On Wednesday, Duplantis cleared 6.15 to win in Lausanne but at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzow he raised the bar to 6.26 after clearing six metres as the Polish crowd watched with bated breath.
