Several leading Dutch companies will be participating as exhibitors, bringing a wide range of products to the attention of Asian buyers.
Holland Agrifoods
In recent years, Holland Agrifoods has seen rapid growth in exports to Asia, says Lotte Roskam, the company's sales support coordinator. “Our main product is Dutch onions, which are enjoyed by customers all over the continent,” she explains. “We also carry a range of vegetables, including garlic, potatoes and carrots. We're not afraid of a challenge and we're open to any request. We have experience in almost all Asian countries.”
Agriculture and Food
Netherlands-based Agrifoods is a trading agent that imports and exports fresh fruits and vegetables from around the world. Last year it began shipping a new line of Hass avocados from Brazil to Europe. The group also says it is interested in potential customers in Asia. Agrifoods' main business is selling Brazilian apples to Bangladesh and India, and it also exports Brazilian Shine Muscat grapes to Asia. The company hopes that its apple range in particular will open up more markets in the east, such as Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Waterman Onion
Waterman Onions, ginger and garlic importer Sawari Fresh and Holland Cambridge Farms will be taking part in the Dutch pavilion at Asia Fruit Logistica in September. Waterman Onions says shipping from the Netherlands to Asia is currently “very interesting” due to the ongoing container imbalance. Dutch onions are known for their long shelf life and high dry matter content and are popular in Asia. “With our ability to deliver onions quickly, we aim to provide an alternative for importers affected by the recent export issues and to connect with those looking for a reliable supplier of high-quality onions,” the group said.
Bayer Vegetable Seeds
According to Nico van Vliet, Bayer Vegetable Seeds is looking forward to connecting with value chain partners visiting Asia Fruit Logistica. “To increase consumption, it is important for us to create matching opportunities based on consumer demand for fruits and vegetables,” he explains. “A good farm-to-table approach is only possible through collaborative collaboration with focused value chain partners.” Bayer will be showcasing a range of fresh products, including greenhouse tomatoes, melons and several Chinese vegetable varieties.
Fresh Pride
Headquartered in Barendrecht, Fresh Pride is focused on expanding its presence in the Asian market and has seen positive developments following customer visits in Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. The group's key products for the Asian market include oranges and mandarins from Australia and South Africa, avocados from Kenya, apples from New Zealand, pitaya from Ecuador and grapes from China. Fresh Pride is particularly excited about market expansion potential in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, and is exploring new opportunities in Japan and China as well as monitoring growth potential in Korea and the Philippines. “We are actively addressing challenges such as direct imports, price caps and maintaining strong long-term relationships with existing partners amid competitive pressures,” Fresh Pride said.
Fruit Masters
As the largest fruit cooperative in the Netherlands, Fruit Masters distributes the highest quality Dutch fruit directly from its partner farmers to domestic and international markets. With its own facilities and logistics centre, Fruit Masters says it guarantees an excellent fruit experience with efficient supply and versatile packaging. At Asia Fruit Logistica, the cooperative invites visitors to view its innovative products for the Asian market, including fruit brands such as Morgana, Tessa, Bros, Migo, Conference and Prestige.
TFC Netherlands
While TFC Holland is primarily focused on the European market and does not sell directly in Asia, the broader BayWa Global Produce group has a strong presence there. Its subsidiary T&G Global is active in the Asian market, particularly with apples, and is performing well there, according to the group's Jannick Hensler. TFC itself relocated to a state-of-the-art facility in Waddinxveen, the Netherlands, in 2023 to better serve increasing demand and growth. The facility includes advanced soft-lip ripening rooms and a new drying facility for ginger, which it imports mainly from China and South America. At Asia Fruit Logistica, TFC Holland will be participating in a joint booth with BayWa Global Produce and will focus on networking with existing and potential exotic fruit suppliers and producers, Hensler confirmed, in particular inviting visitors to see and taste Envy and Jazz, two premium consumer apple brands.
