Macau-based gaming equipment distributor Asia Pioneer Entertainment reported a loss of HK$638,929 (US$81,920) for the first half of 2024, narrowing from a loss of HK$7.1 million (US$910,000) in the same period last year as revenue from its gaming business division grew significantly.
Details filed last night showed that revenue for the first half of FY24 rose 160% year-on-year to HK$19.9 million (US$2.6 million), including a 190% increase in EGE technology sales and distribution to HK$13.8 million (US$1.8 million).
Revenue from the consulting and technical services division increased 301% year-on-year to HK$4.6 million (US$589,790), while repair services decreased 26.8% to approximately HK$452,000 (US$57,950).
The company also expressed its positive outlook, noting that casino operators' revenue per slot machine in the Macau market in the first half of 2024 increased 26.8% compared to the same period in 2019, with slot machine GGR reaching MOP6.43 billion (US$799 million), accounting for 5.7% of Macau's total gaming revenue.
“As of December 2023, the total slot machine count will be 12,000, and management expects this count to return to pre-pandemic levels over the next few years,” the company said.
APE, which represents Slovenia's Spintech, Taiwan's Jumbo Technologies and Konami Australia in Macau, said it expected to see benefits from new product launches in the near future.
“In the first half of 2024, Spintech launched its new Charisma series electronic roulette with a new design and improved topper,” APE said. “These new products are expected to be available in the Macau SAR market in the second half of 2024 after certification and regulatory approval. Casino customers in Macau SAR have shown strong interest in Spintech's improved products.”
“In addition, in the first half of 2024, Jumbo Technologies has updated its progressive jackpot slot, 'Long Yi Fa'. The product is expected to receive certification in the second half of 2024 and will be available for sale to casino customers in the Macau Special Administrative Region in the second half of 2024 and 2025.”
“Key Konami products sold by the Group include the Dimension series 75c and 49 cabinets, which are capable of running a variety of Konami slot game titles. These products have proven popular in casinos in Australia and other parts of Asia. The Group plans to promote these Konami products to casino customers in the Macau SAR in the second half of 2024 and 2025.”
