At least 50 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military attacks on the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, according to health authorities in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that at least 11 civilians were killed and an unknown number were wounded in the southern city of Khan Yunis and the Nuseirat area in central Gaza.
The report comes as efforts to reach a ceasefire continue in Cairo, with Hamas sending a delegation to the area.
Israel has been at war with Hamas since October 2023, with the military reporting heavy fighting continuing in the southern, central and northern parts of the Gaza Strip.
On Friday, the army called on residents of Gaza City to flee to the sea in the west to avoid further military clashes.
Israeli forces then advanced into the area, killing several people and destroying what they said were terrorist facilities, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Health officials do not distinguish between civilians and combatants, but more than 40,000 people have been killed and over 90,000 wounded in the Gaza Strip, and Israel claims to have killed at least 14,000 armed individuals.
The war began after Hamas and other militant groups killed more than 1,200 people in southern Israel on October 7.
