Australian police have announced that a 14-day search operation has been successful. A group of about 300 people tracked the footprints of a 23-year-old man who went missing while hiking with two companions. The man survived because he drank river water and ate wild berries. He is currently hospitalized for tests.
Hadi Nazari, a 23-year-old medical student, went missing on December 26 while hiking in Kosciuszko National Park with two colleagues.
The man left for a moment to take a photo, then returned to his friends. But he didn’t do that and went missing for two weeks.

On January 8, Nazari came across a group of tourists and asked for help. Rescue workers were called to the scene. The 23-year-old man was flown to a hospital for tests. His life is not in danger.
– Looks good. He’s amazing. “It’s amazing that he came out and was so well and in such good condition,” Inspector Josh Broadfoot said.

The 23-year-old survived for almost 14 days by drinking river water and eating wild berries and two muesli bars he found in one of his huts.
“He is in extremely good health for someone who disappeared so long ago,” said paramedic Adam More.

Searchers remained optimistic until the end of the operation, confident they would find the man. The fact that he was an experienced hiker and had the necessary things such as a tent certainly worked in his favor.
