Auterion Government Solutions
Ted Davis has been promoted to president and general manager of the robotics and autonomous systems software provider.
Auterion GS supplies these products to drone manufacturers, many of which are contracted to build aircraft for U.S. government agencies.
Davis, a retired Air Force Lt. Colonel with a history of leadership roles in mission areas including missile defense, space and autonomous systems, succeeds Errol Farr, who will continue to serve in an advisory role at Auterion GS.
DZYNE Technologies
Retired Navy Vice Admiral Colin Green has joined the company, a maker of autonomous vehicles and other related technologies, as head of strategic solutions.
The hire comes about two months after DZYNE completed its merger with fellow unmanned technology provider High Point Technologies. As part of the deal, Matt McCue became DZYNE's chief executive officer after 11 years in executive roles at the company, including as president for the past two years.
Greene finished his 38-year military career as vice commander of Special Operations Command, having previously led the Naval Special Warfare Command.
Empowering AI
Dr. Jennifer Sample will join the artificial intelligence-focused integrator as chief technology officer, overseeing the rollout of customer-facing solutions.
Sample will also oversee Empower AI’s overall technology vision and strategy for working with government agencies as they address digital transformation challenges.
A 24-year veteran in the government market, she most recently served as Managing Director at Accenture Federal Services, where she led the company's AI strategy. Prior to AFS, she spent nearly 20 years at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where she led the Emerging Technologies Program.
Iridium Communications
Vincent O'Neill will be promoted to chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1, after 10 years with the satellite communications provider, most recently serving as senior vice president of finance.
O'Neill succeeds Thomas Fitzpatrick, who served as Iridium's CFO for the past 14 years, helping launch the Iridium NEXT constellation and leading the company out of bankruptcy in the late 1990s.
Iridium also announced that Tim Last, currently senior vice president, will become executive vice president of sales and marketing, succeeding Brian Hartin, who is retiring from the role. This change also takes effect on January 1.
Revenue from U.S. government business accounted for a quarter of Iridium's total 2023 sales of $790.7 million, according to regulatory filings.
Nightwing
Dan Almasy has joined the company, which provides cybersecurity and intelligence solutions to government agencies, as chief human resources officer.
Nightwing was part of RTX until its sale in the first quarter to a then-unnamed private equity firm (previously named by Reuters as Blackstone), which first announced the $1.3 billion deal in October.
Almasy most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer for SOS International, after spending the last 22 years at RTX and Raytheon Intelligence and Space Division, where the Nightwing team was formerly located.
NuAxis Innovation
Gundeep Ahulwalia has joined the human-centered design and customer experience services specialist as chief innovation officer.
Ahulwalia will lead NuAxis' efforts to embed DevSecOps software development methodologies into government customer experience operations.
The nearly 30-year public sector veteran most recently served as chief information officer at the Department of Labor for nearly eight years.
Nutanix
Greg O'Connell has been promoted to vice president of the federal division for the software provider for data centers and hybrid multicloud deployments.
A large part of his responsibilities will span Nutanix's partner network, which includes federal government technology integrators and resellers.
Most recently, he was senior sales director for defense and intelligence at Nutanix. The 25-year technology veteran's career also includes roles at companies such as IBM and Infoblox.
Red River
Dr. James Matney has joined the digital transformation services company as chief technology officer for its Government business unit, and will also hold the role of senior vice president of solutions.
The 35-year public sector market veteran will lead Red River's efforts to develop new offerings for government customers in areas including managed services, artificial intelligence, cyber, infrastructure, collaboration and cloud solutions.
Matney most recently served as vice president of strategy for General Dynamics IT's defense division and previously held positions in the private sector with AECOM, Engility and Science Applications International Corp. He joined industry after 25 years as an Air Force officer, primarily in IT-focused roles.
Ursa Major
Ben Nicholson joined the rocket propulsion systems manufacturer as chief growth officer in the same month that the hiring of a new CEO was completed.
Nicholson previously held the same role at CAE USA, where she also led the government relations team before assuming responsibility for subsidiary growth. She also served as professional staff for the House Appropriations Committee and held senior government relations positions at Honeywell and the former L3 Technologies.
Dan Jablonski became chief executive officer of Ursa Major on Aug. 5 after serving as CEO of Maxar for five years.
