World Beach Day is celebrated on September 1st.
This international day celebrating the world's coastlines is the perfect opportunity to head to the shore, or at least start dreaming about your next seaside trip.
A major travel platform confirms that Bali is one of the most searched for beach holiday destinations in the world.
It has been officially announced that Bali will be the most searched and most in-demand beach holiday destination in Asia for September and October 2024.
Travel booking platform Agoda has released the top 10 most searched-for coastal destinations in Asia over the next two months, with the Island of the Gods coming out on top beating out some of Asia's most iconic beachside resort destinations.
Bali came in first, followed by Okinawa in Japan, Da Nang in Vietnam and Pattaya in Thailand.
The Thai resort town of Phuket came in fifth, while the world-famous beach resort islands of Boracay and Cebu in the Philippines came in ninth and tenth, respectively.
“With monsoon season drawing to a close across much of Asia, travelers are looking forward to sun, sand and sea,” Andrew Smith, Adage's senior vice president of supply, said in a press statement.
“Asia is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and International Beach Day is the perfect time to celebrate these coastal treasures.”
Aogoda also released some interesting new statistics: search engine traffic for Bali accommodation has increased by 11% compared to last year, signaling a surge in travel demand to the island. Bali is on track to surpass all tourism targets in 2024, making it the busiest year on record.
Bali's beaches are world class, and whether you're looking for a cheap, fun holiday in the sun or a luxurious private getaway on well-maintained white sand beaches, the Island of the Gods offers all that and more.
Long-time popular beach resorts of Legian and Kuta are completely deserted as tourists gravitate to the burgeoning resort town of Canggu.
If you're looking to combine surfing with sunbathing, Uluwatu is the place to be, with Padang Padang Beach and Bingin Beach being the most popular beaches, especially for first-time visitors.
Tourists looking to enjoy a little more seclusion on Bali's beaches often look towards Amed, Lovina and the western tip of the island.
Leaders are on a mission to encourage tourists to explore not just southern Bali but other areas as well, and with an increase in searches for Bali's beaches on travel booking platforms, these destinations are set to receive more attention and a much-deserved influx of tourists.
Agoda, as a platform, has been sharing a lot of information about current travel trends over the past few weeks.
Data shows that Central Java's cultural city of Yogyakarta is one of the cities offering the most competitive and good value accommodation prices in Indonesia.
With daily direct flights from Bali to Yogyakarta, it's now easier than ever for tourists to explore more of the Indonesian archipelago during their holidays.
In fact, adding a visit to Yogyakarta to your Bali vacation can be a strategic move to make the most of your budget.
Yogyakarta is home to a wealth of incredibly affordable hotels, day trips and cultural tours that are often more affordable than Bali's most famous getaways, allowing tourists to accomplish everything on their bucket list and save big in the process.
Gede Gunawan, Agoda's senior director for Indonesia, explained Yogyakarta's affordability to reporters: “In the midst of the global economic difficulties, tourists are definitely looking for value experiences without spending too much.”
“Yogyakarta, for all its charm, offers a unique experience that is not only culturally rich but also easy on the wallet.”
