Alaxandr Lukashenko said Pope Francis could express his beliefs “right on his face.” The Belarusian dictator pointed out that he wanted a spiritual leader and wanted to meet Francis.
On Monday, Arachsandr Lukashenko met with representatives from Belarusian religious groups. The Metropolitan of Minsk Mohilfsky, Archbishop Joseph Stanievsky, participated in the conversation. The clergy is the secretary of the Belarus Anglican Congress.

– I have great respect for the Pope, give him my best wishes. He’s a really strong guy. It’s not just about living, it’s about serving. He can say what you think representatives of all classes of society think straight into their faces – Lukashenko said.
– Our ideas and opinions are not contradictory, he knows it, I know it, we talked about it – he continued. In this way, he mentioned a meeting with Francis in 2016. – therefore, add him the oldest son and the warmest – Lukashenko.

The dictator also expressed his hopes for another personal conversation with Francis Zeck. -I think the time will come, we will definitely meet the Pope – he emphasized.

– I want you to represent all layers of society, all countries. Both the very rich who are trying to monopolise the world and the poor who have not played such a huge role in shaping today’s humanity, Lukashenko Pope said.
