In September 2025, Belarus will conduct military exercises with the participation of the armed forces of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (ODKB). The decision was announced during a meeting between Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Krenin and CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.
According to a statement from the Belarusian Ministry of Defense, the issue of organizing the exercises became the subject of negotiations between military representatives of the post-Soviet Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states. The officers managed to reach an agreement and a series of exercises will be held next September at training grounds in Belarus, including in western Belarus.
According to Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Krenin, the planned exercises include: “Interaction-2025”, “Quest-2025”, “Echelon-2025”. However, the politician did not provide further information on the number of troops participating in the exercise or its nature.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization, a military-political alliance, currently includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. Most likely, Armenian soldiers will not appear at the Belarusian base. Yerevan authorities have indicated several times that Yerevan is ready to leave the organization due to problems in relations with Minsk.

A few days ago, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Furzenin announced an agreement on the organization of the Russia-Belarus joint exercise “Zapad-2025”.
– Currently, our military staff is beginning preparations. This exercise will be the main event of joint training between military command and control institutions and soldiers in 2025. This will create conditions for further improvement of the current system of ensuring the military security of the federal state, he stressed.

At the same time, the Belarusian Defense Ministry Secretary emphasized that representatives of the two armies agreed on the details of a number of initiatives that will be carried out in the coming months.
