The police are chasing a highway robber near Belchatow (Lodz province). The 28-year-old man was speeding, did not respond to the light and sound signals of the police, violated a number of rules, drove the car in a ditch and crashed into energy barriers. He faces up to five years in prison.
The incident happened on the morning of January 7. In the city of Oleshnik, the employees of the traffic department of the Belchatov police carried out measures against road robbers. Their attention was caught by a Renault Megane whose driver was speeding and the driver overtook an oncoming car in a double lane.

The police decided to stop the driver. – Turning on the light and sound signals, they ordered them to stop to check the road, and they chased him. However, the driver of the car kept increasing the speed and continued driving. While escaping from police control, he further violated traffic rules and created a danger to other road users. He was driving at a high speed and was approaching the intersection of Shvetoyanska Street and Ampere Street. During the maneuver to the right, he lost control of the car, left his lane, fell into a ditch and hit the protective barriers. Fortunately, the 28-year-old resident of Belchatov was not injured and was alert, – reports chief inspector Ivona Kaszewska from Belchatov police.

This 28-year-old driver’s license was suspended and he was arrested. Among other things, he will be responsible for not fulfilling the order to stop the motor vehicle for the inspection of the road, for which he will be punished by up to five years of imprisonment. He should also consider responsibility for traffic violations. His further fate will be decided by the court.
