China has also imposed export controls on 25 rare metals
Taxes on importing China on certain American products is expected to come into force on Monday while the trade war between the two largest economies in the world is degenerating and US President Donald Trump threatens to hit more countries with prices.
Beijing announced that the plan on February 4, a few minutes after the entry into force of new American samples of 10% on all Chinese products.
Trump said on Friday that he planned “reciprocal prices” on other nations in the coming days when he aims to reshape US global trade relations.
The president did not say which countries could be targeted, but suggested that it would be a wide effort that could also help solve American budgetary problems.
From February 10, China will charge a 15% border tax on imports of American coal and liquefied natural gas products. There is also a 10% price on American crude oil, agricultural machines and high -engine cars.
Last week, the Chinese authorities launched an anti-monopoly survey on the giant of Google technology, while PVH, the American owner of designer brands Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, was added to the so-called “list” Entity “Unreliable of Beijing.
China has also imposed export controls on 25 rare metals, some of which are key components for many electrical products and military equipment.
Speaking on Friday at a meeting at the White House with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, Trump threatened to impose new prices on imports from more business partners.
“I will announce that, next week, the reciprocal trade, so that we are treated uniformly with other countries,” said Trump.
This decision would fulfill an election campaign commitment to collect prices at the same prices which are imposed on American goods.
He also declared that import taxes for vehicles had stayed on the table after reporting that he was considering exemptions at universal rates.
Trump has complained several times that the European Union (EU) prices on imports of American cars are much higher than American samples.
Last week, Trump told the BBC that prices on EU products could occur “very soon” – but suggested that an agreement could be “developed” with the United Kingdom.
The day after the entry into force of the latest American prices, Beijing accused Washington of having made “unfounded and false allegations” on his role in the synthetic fentanyl opioid trade to justify this decision.
In a complaint filed with the World Trade Organization (WTO), China said that American import taxes were “discriminatory and protectionist” and violated trade rules.
But the experts have warned that it is unlikely that China will get a decision in its favor because the WTO panel that settles disputes remains unable to operate.
Trump had to speak to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in recent days, but the American president said that he was not in a hurry to speak.
Some of the numerous measures brought by Trump since he took office on January 20 has been subject to a change.
Friday, he suspended the prices on small packs of China, which, with the additional 10%tariffs, entered into force on February 4.
The suspension will remain in place until “adequate systems are in place to fully and quickly treat pricing income”.
Once the order has ended the franchise treatment of shipping rights of a value of less than $ 800 (£ 645), the American postal service (USPS) and other agencies rushed to comply.
USPS has temporarily stopped accepting China’s packages, only in turn a day later.
Last weekend, Trump said that he put 25% of prices on Mexico and Canada goods, but quickly interrupted these tasks for a month while negotiations continue.
