36th Annual Black Family Reunion
Enjoy four days of black pride and celebration in Sawyer Point. This year's Black Family Reunion will feature speakers such as award-winning journalist Roland Martin, City Manager Cheryl Long and WLWT anchor Courtis Fuller, as well as musical performances by Doug E. Fresh, VaShawn Mitchell, Ricky Dillard and the Leo High School Boys Choir. Other activities include a job fair, a children's carnival, a choral competition and black history tours of the city. Bat Night for the Family
Bring the whole family to Long Branch Farm and Trails and learn everything there is to know about bats. You and your kids can get up close and personal with bats and see how they navigate their world at night. After the talk, you'll do other bat-related activities before hitting the trails. Finish the night with a hike, where your guide will use high-tech equipment to listen for bat calls and spot bats. Admission is $10 for Cincinnati Nature Center members and $16 for nonmembers. Scary Friday: I know what I did last summer
Brad Hargis of horror podcast “Old Man Blood” will host a late-night screening of the 1997 teen slasher sensation “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” Each month, Hargis programs horror favorites for Esquire's “Frightful Fridays” series. Round out your summer with this warm-weather classic starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Anne Heche. Tickets are $10.25. Sake-barrier book fair
It's like a book fair you might find at an elementary school, but with alcohol. Roebling Books will bring 90-120 books across a variety of genres to the Wooden Cask Brewing Company patio to rekindle a love of reading in adults. Fun items purchased at the book fair, like puzzles, stickers and bags, will also be available for sale. After shopping, grab a craft beer and read a new book. Gaden Samduling Monastery Open House and Taste of Tibet
Groesbeck's Buddhist Temple will open to the public on Saturday. From 3 to 6 p.m., visitors can explore the temple's unique collection of traditional Tibetan art and Buddhist statues. They can also take a guided tour of the facility without making a reservation. Advance notice is required for the “Taste of Tibet” dinner at 6 p.m. The meal will be buffet style and will feature both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Tibetan dishes, including momos, al-katsa, and tea prepared by the monks. 1st Norwood Comedy Festival
More than 25 local and regional comedians will come together for the inaugural Norwood Comedy Festival. With four different showcases, this free event will be the largest one-day comedy festival in the Cincinnati area. In addition to six hours of live stand-up comedy, there will also be food trucks, a beer garden hosted by Northwood Cider Company and MPH Brewing, and more than 30 craft vendors. The Doobie Brothers: Summer 2024

Summer Music: Bach Meets Bollywood
The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra's Summer Music Festival, now in its 50th season, will feature an afternoon of performances celebrating and fusing Western classical music with Indian raga music. Popular Bollywood tunes will be performed alongside Bach, Beethoven and traditional ragas composed by local composer Kannikus Kannikeswaran and arranged by Vidita Kannikus. Plus, there will be a henna artist in the lobby. Tickets are $40 for adults, $10 for students and free for children 13 and under.
