Clayton Utz has welcomed partners Geoff Shaw, Amanda Storey, Edward Campbell and Suriya Rome to its Canberra office, strengthening the firm's capabilities in commercial litigation, real estate and the public sector.
Emma Kovacevic, chief executive partner at Clayton Utz, said: “We are expanding our presence in Canberra in response to the growing demand for complex legal advice in both the private and public sector. The Australian Capital Territory's economy is growing and with it, the demand for specialist legal advice.”
A Clayton Ats spokesman told the Asia Business Law Journal that the firm could not confirm a start date for the four new partners but expected it to be within the next few months.
Mr Shaw joins Clayton Utz from MinterEllison where he spent 17 years leading the firm's Canberra office as Managing Partner. He is a litigator and dispute resolution specialist with experience in alternative dispute resolution including mediation, expert determination and neutral evaluations.
Mr. Storey brings nearly 20 years of experience and has led MinterEllison's government practice nationwide.
Campbell has worked for MinterEllison for 10 years and has experience in real estate law, real estate development and construction.
Rome specializes in federal procurement, contracting and fundraising. He has seven years of experience working for MinterEllison and previously worked for Norton Rose Fulbright in 2011.
