Shipping giant CMA CGM has announced peak season surcharges (PSS02) for shipments from Northern Europe to North America.
The additional fees will be effective from September 15, 2024 until further notice.
The rate applies to shipments from all Northern European ports, including Northern France, the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, the Baltic Sea region and Northern Spain (Bilbao, Gijon), to the US East Coast, US Gulf Coast, Canadian East Coast, Mexico and all inland destinations accessible via these ports.

PSS covers dry and reefer cargo (excluding special equipment and OOG) and the surcharge is $250 per 20ft container and $500 per 40ft and 45ft container.
Earlier this month, CMA CGM announced plans to expand its coverage in the Democratic Republic of Congo by adding to its current feeder system.
Recently, the company trialed WinGD’s variable compression ratio (VCR) technology on one of its vessels.
