A range of Coca-Cola products is recalled in the United Kingdom after the company’s traffic jam has declared that it had identified “high levels” of a chemical called Chlorate.
Coca-cola carors Original Taste, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Diet Coke and Sprite Zero sent to cafes and restaurants are removed as well as 6×250 ml appletter multiplers sent to British supermarkets.
The announcement follows on Tuesday a more important reminder of Coca-Cola products across Europe.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, the company’s traffic jam, said the risk of illness was “very low”.
The affected boxes carry production codes of 328 GE to 338 GE on their basis.
The majority of Coca-Cola products, including standard cans, and all glass and plastic bottles sold in the United Kingdom are not affected, said the company.
Chlorate can be produced when chlorine -based disinfectants are used in water treatment and food processing.
Exposure to high levels of chlorate can cause health problems, including thyroid problems, especially in children and infants.
“An independent expert analysis concluded that any associated risk of feeling temporarily badly for the consumption of these products is very low,” said companies.
“The quality and safety of our products are our absolute priority and we are sorry that at this occasion, a small number of our products have not respected our high standards, and we apologize for any drawback that this has caused” , said the company a declaration.
