According to preliminary information, the fugitive is probably not the document's owner. The evidence was registered in a pan-European police database as stolen or missing in January 2022, according to the Bild daily.
On Thursday, a Berlin police spokesperson said the fugitive was still wanted. Authorities are also searching for the man whose name issued the ID card.
