Diablo 4
Blizzard
As time went on, I expected to see more and more Blizzard IP crossovers with Diablo 4, and now we've got perhaps the game's biggest crossover yet: a series of five skins, one for each class, taken directly from World of Warcraft.
The five skins currently in the shop are:
Barbarian Set – Varian Wrynn
Diablo 4
Diablo 4
Druid Set – Xavius
Diablo 4
Diablo 4
Necromancer Set – Zaruatas
Diablo 4
Diablo 4
Sorcerer Set – Kael’thas
Diablo 4
Diablo 4
Rogue Set – Yes, Sylvanas
Diablo 4
Diablo 4
The Pegasus from WoW also appears as a mount.
This is actually pretty interesting, because even though the set is made for a specific WoW character, it should work for both genders. So if you've always wanted to be a male Sylvanas or a female Varian Wrynn, now's your chance. The set is really well made and looks great.
So what are the pitfalls? I mean, you know the pitfalls.
The skins, like most of the dozens of skins you'll find in the Diablo Shop, are extremely pricey. But these are definitely on the higher end of the price range. Each skin costs 2,800 platinum, or $25. Thankfully, you're not forced to buy the more expensive bundles, but the 2,500 platinum horse will still cost you $25.
I've long been frustrated with Diablo 4 for stuffing the store with tons of awesome cosmetics at exorbitant prices, considering that earning cosmetics in a game like this is fun for many players, yet you get practically nothing. At least, very few good ones. What's especially annoying is that when the game was released, they openly boasted that the in-game sets would be just as cool as the paid sets. That was true at launch, but as soon as the seasons started, the paid skins got so much better and the free skins became virtually non-existent. Every season, you get a free set of armor for all classes that is usually hilariously awful, but the main game has almost no cosmetics outside of horses, and only a few new items that you can actually transmog.
But nothing changes. The prices of the skins haven't gone down and they're still all amazing, so it's a shame that I have to spend hundreds of dollars to get them every season. But they do it for a reason and it works. Anyway, I might still buy the Sylvanas + Xal'atus set…
