Tragedy during a concert in the Dominican Republic. During an event at one of the Santo Domingo clubs, the roof collapsed. At least 27 people have been killed and more than 100 have been injured as a result of the disaster. Among the victims is Nells Cruz, the governor of Montecristi.
On Tuesday morning, the roof of the Dominican Republic’s capital, Santo Domingo Jet Set Club, collapsed. At least 27 people have been killed and 134 have been injured, Reuters said.
The preliminary report spoke about participants with more than 70 injured people.

Juan Manuel Méndez, director of Crisis Operation Center, said a search for potential survivors is ongoing. – As many of them are still alive, the authorities assume that one person will not give up until they stay under the tile rub – highlighting the formula cited by the “Guardian”.

Among the injured is Rubby Pérez Singer, who played when the roof collapsed. According to the UK Daily, one of the deaths was Nells Cruz, governor of the city of Montecristi.
Perez’s manager, Enrique Paulino, told journalists on the scene that Perez’s concert began shortly before midnight and the roof collapsed almost an hour later.

Dominican Republic President Lewis Abinader emphasized on website X that rescuers are making tireless efforts to help the victims.
“We deeply regret the tragedy that took place at Jetset Nightclub. We’ll trace the incident at this moment a minute after it happened,” he said.
“Our prayers are with families affected by this tragedy,” he added.
