The top 10 edge rusher for the 2025 class committed to Clemson University on July 20th.
Currently, Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley four-star EDGE Bryce Davis is leaning towards staying in North Carolina and committing to Duke University.
On3 director of recruiting Chad Simmons and vice president of recruiting Steve Wiltfong recorded expert projections for the Blue Devils to pluck Davis from the Tigers on Saturday, and Duke currently tops the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for Davis at 89.4%.
According to the On3 industry rankings, a weighted average utilizing all four major recruiting media companies, Davis is the No. 73 prospect in the nation, the No. 10 EDGE player and the No. 3 player coming out of the state of North Carolina in the 2025 cycle.
More on Davis' hiring
Before Davis committed to Clemson last month, On3's Chad Simmons reported that Duke was stepping up its recruitment efforts for Davis as the decision drew closer, and Davis said at the time that education would influence his choice.
“Ultimately it's down to my instincts, but family atmosphere, systems and education all come into play,” Davis previously said. “My mom is an educator and my dad is an Army police officer, so education means a lot and having a family atmosphere is something I think about a lot.”
During his admissions announcement, Davis said he ultimately decided between Clemson and Duke.
“I made my final decision Saturday morning,” Davis told On3. “It was a very difficult decision. It took a lot of mental strength to make this decision. I went back and forth between Clemson and Duke and it was tough. My final decision is Clemson.”
