EF Polymer was named to Forbes' list of “100 Asian Companies to Watch” for its innovation in the agricultural sector.
The list highlights emerging companies and startups in the Asia Pacific region that are making great strides in innovation, attracting investment and establishing themselves as leaders in their fields.
EF Polymers has developed a unique hydrogel polymer using biodegradable materials such as banana and orange peels to address issues such as crop failure, rot and low yields.
The Udaipur-based startup said in a statement that the innovation has reached millions of farmers and they have seen positive results in their agricultural practices.
Earlier this year, the startup made it onto Forbes' “30 Under 30” list.
EF Polymer, founded in 2018 by CEO Narayan Lal Gurjar and co-founders Ankit Jain and Puran Singh Rajput, has developed a product called Fasal Amrit, designed to preserve nutrients in crops and retain moisture in the soil.
“The polymer helps soil retain moisture for longer, increasing crop yields and reducing the need for fertilizer,” the statement said.
