When chef Taylor Montgomery announced he was leaving Urban Wren, the question remained: who would replace him?
Look no further for the answer: Chef Marcus Beato was announced as the restaurant's executive chef on Aug. 8. Beato was previously executive chef at The Bellwether on South Main Street and has cooked up and down the East Coast.
Urban Wren has recently undergone a leadership change, but the restaurant remains true to its founding vision of serving local ingredients in creative and unique ways, and the restaurant also plans to host pop-ups featuring up-and-coming local chefs.
The restaurant is located at 116 N. Markley St. in downtown Greenville's West End and is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m.
