The entry list for the World Athletics U-20 Championships in Lima on Wednesday confirmed that more than 1,700 athletes from 134 teams are due to compete at the Estadio Atlético de la Videna from August 27-31.

Many players will make their international debut in Lima, while some will travel to Peru via Paris.
The list of Olympians who will compete for age-group titles after Paris 2024 includes Bradley Nkoana and Bayanda Walaza, who helped South Africa win silver in the men's 4x100m relay in Paris, and Sembo Almayew of Ethiopia, who came fifth in the women's 3,000m hurdles.
At the Paris Olympics, Jamaica's Alana Reid competed in the 4x100m relay, and Australia's Tori Lewis competed in the 200m and 4x100m relays, and she tops the list of competitors in the women's 100m relay in Lima.
Estonia's Carmen Bruus (high jump), Uzbekistan's Sharifa Davronova (triple jump), Ethiopia's Medina Eisa (5,000m) and Jamaica's Kerika Hill (100m hurdles) all won gold medals at the last World U-20 Championships in Cali in 2022 and are seeking to defend their titles.
The countries that entered the most teams were the United States with 100 entries, Germany with 92 entries and Australia with 68 entries.
The official start list will be published after the technical meeting on the eve of the Championship.
