“Our colleagues have to manually do a lot of things that systems used to do, and we’re still doing that,” he said.

Technical problems caused long lines at the ports of Cologne, Dortmund and Düsseldorf. Some delays were also reported at Munich Airport.

A Berlin Airport spokesperson told Reuters that passengers traveling to Germany from outside the Schengen area should expect long waits to enter the country. The same goes for Düsseldorf.
A representative of Frankfurt Airport said that airport operations were carried out without delay. No entry bans were imposed at any airport.
