Texans quarterback CJ Stroud was an effective player for fantasy owners in his rookie season. Stroud threw for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and five interceptions, landing him in the top 12 in fantasy football QB rankings. The former Ohio State star also rushed for 167 yards and three scores, proving the rookie playmaker can return value in his first NFL season. Now, 2024 fantasy football rookie quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels have already been named Week 1 starters, but where do they rank in the 2024 fantasy football rankings?
Williams would add a lot of talent to Chicago's offense, and Daniels could provide immediate value with his ability to gain yards as a rusher. If you're looking for fantasy football advice in 2024, be sure to check out SportsLine's 2024 Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet from their proven computer model.
Last year, the model accurately predicted that Lions running back Jameel Gibbs would provide much more value than expected in his rookie season, when Gibbs ran for 945 yards and 10 touchdowns while catching 52 passes for 316 yards and one score. Gibbs was an average mid-fourth round pick, but finished as a top-10 running back in CBS Sports PPR leagues.
The same model has a proven track record of providing fantasy football tips, identifying AJ Brown as a sleeper in 2020 and accurately predicting Jonathan Taylor's phenomenal season in 2021. Additionally, they have predicted past fantasy football sleepers such as Derrick Henry in 2019, Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara in 2018, and Davante Adams in 2017. Those who bet on these players have gone on to win league titles.
The model is run by the same people who create the predictions for the three major fantasy sites, and it beat out human experts last season when there was a huge gap in the rankings. Predictions are updated multiple times daily, so you'll always get the best fantasy football advice.

2024 Caleb Williams Fantasy Football Predictions
The model has confirmed Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams' 2024 fantasy football projections. The No. 1 overall pick showed flashes of brilliance in the preseason despite lacking gametime experience with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen. Williams completed 6-of-13 passes for 75 yards and a 7-yard touchdown run on a scramble in Chicago's preseason game against the Bengals.
Williams will also be joined in the backfield by a veteran running back, which should be an advantage for the former USC star. D'Andre Swift signed with the Bears this offseason after rushing for 2,729 yards and 23 touchdowns in his first four seasons in the NFL. He also excels as a pass-catcher when given the chance, hauling in 195 receptions for 1,412 yards and eight scores. The offensive weapons surrounding Williams will certainly be worth considering in any upcoming fantasy football drafts. Check out our complete fantasy football QB rankings here.
2024 Jayden Daniels Fantasy Football Predictions
The model also released a projection for Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is in his rookie season but is already older than several non-rookie starters in the NFL. Daniels turned 24 in December, nearly a year older than C.J. Stroud. His five seasons as a starter in college have seen him get more snaps than the typical rookie, and he rushed for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns and 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns last year at Louisiana State.
Daniels is now playing professionally, but there is an argument to be made that last year's top two receivers at Louisiana State were more naturally talented than the Commanders' WR1 this season. Daniels had the luxury of throwing passes to Malik Neighbors and Brian Thomas Jr., who were both first-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Terry McLaurin is an established wide receiver in the NFL, but other than him, the Commanders don't have many pass-catchers to terrorize defenses. NFL defensive coordinators will try to confuse Daniels, and while his athleticism was a big advantage in college, it remains to be seen how that will work in the NFL. Here are the rankings for each quarterback.
2024 Drake May Fantasy Football Predictions
The model also released its rankings for Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye. Daniels and Williams are sure to be selections in most fantasy football 2024 drafts, but owners are waiting for more information on the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Maye is competing with Jacoby Brissett and fellow rookie Joe Milton for the Patriots' Week 1 starter spot.
Even if Maye doesn't start in the season opener against the Bengals, he could still be worth a late-round pick. The Patriots are expected to struggle this season and could be on the back foot. Maye threw for over 8,000 yards in just two seasons at North Carolina, so his upside could be intriguing for players looking for 2024 fantasy football deep sleepers.
