A French court ruled a five-year ban on extreme right leader Marine Le Penn’s participation in the election. The court’s decision means that politicians will not be able to participate in the 2027 presidential election if it persists in subsequent cases. A Paris court ruled on Monday that the French Right Marine Corps would be banned from taking part in the election for five years.
The court’s decision found that a French politician, eight other former EU lawmakers and 12 Parliamentary assistants had been guilty of embezzling the EU fund. The judge said the ban would come into effect soon.
Furthermore, the extreme right leader was fined 100,000. The Euro was fined and sentenced to four years in prison, of which two were suspended. She is punished under electronic supervision.
