The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tbilisi reported that the bodies of 12 restaurant employees were found in the ski resort of Gudauri in the north-west of Georgia. “Investigative activities are ongoing,” the report said. Georgian media reports that the probable cause of death was an accident.
Gudauri is a ski resort in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region at an altitude of about 2200 meters above sea level.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia announced in a statement that the bodies of 12 people who worked in the same institution were found in the bedroom on the second floor of an Indian restaurant in Gudauri. The ministry said that 11 of the 12 deceased were citizens of other countries and one was a citizen of Georgia.

An unfortunate accident
“Investigative activities are ongoing. The autopsy will help determine the cause of death,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. It also reported that in a closed room next to the room where the body was found, there was a generator that was turned on after the restaurant's power went out (probably due to weather conditions).
Also on Saturday, the Newsgeorgia website reported that 11 of the dead were Indian citizens. The possible cause of their death could be an accident, he wrote.
