Florida State Seminoles Betting Preview
The Florida State Seminoles are in their fifth year under head coach Mike Norvell and are considered the favorites to win the ACC. Florida State has won a combined 23 games over the past two seasons and is expected to do big things this year. Florida State has acquired quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, who threw for over 8,000 yards and 57 touchdowns at Clemson and Oregon State. Florida State lost its top three receivers and will need to find a playmaker on the outside, but running back Lawrence Toafili returns after averaging 6.7 yards per touch as a backup.
Defensively, DJ Lundy returns with 54 tackles, Patrick Payton has seven sacks and Conrad Hussey has one interception. Linebacker Marvin Jones Jr. also transferred from Georgia and should thrive in an expanded role. Florida State lost a lot of production on defense, but the freshmen are ready and the Seminoles have a quarterback. As of now, FSU is the team to beat in the ACC.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Preview
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets won seven games last year and have a chance to play in back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 2013-14. Head coach Brent Key is in his second season with the Yellow Jackets. Quarterback Haynes King returns with 2,800 passing yards and 27 touchdowns, as well as 737 rushing yards and 10 scores. Georgia Tech returns its top two receivers in Eric Singleton Jr. and Malik Rutherford, and running back Jamaal Haynes returns as a 1,000-yard rusher. Georgia Tech had the fourth-highest scoring offense in the ACC last season, and all of its key pieces are back for an encore.
Defensively, Georgia Tech is back with Kyle Efford, who led the team with 81 tackles, Kevin Harris with one sack and Ahmari Harvey with three interceptions. Georgia Tech also acquired Ayobami Tiface from Florida State, EJ Lightsey from Georgia and Jordan van den Berg from Penn State. Georgia Tech has a proven track record on both the offensive and defensive levels and has the ability to surprise ACC players.

Georgia Tech vs. Florida State Predictions
The Florida State Seminoles are clearly the more talented team and have a full offseason to prepare, which gives them an even bigger advantage. However, Georgia Tech has a lot of players back from a year ago, especially on offense, so the Yellow Jackets should be able to have some success moving the ball. They also have travel to play in Dublin and are playing a rugby/football game, which can make things a bit wonky on the field and with their footing. FSU is inexperienced at the skill positions and is working out a new quarterback, so it may take a week or two before they really hit the ground running. Either way, I like Georgia Tech and the value of the points.
