If you've ever struggled to organize your shopping list or figure out what to pack for your next trip, Google's new feature might help.
Google Keep, the popular note-taking app that lets you jot down and organize ideas, has introduced a feature called “Help me create a list.” As the name suggests, the feature uses AI to help you create a list based on prompts that you enter.

According to Google, you can ask Keep to create lists for you using prompts like “Packaging list for summer camping with two kids,” “Classic movies to watch for Halloween,” or “Spring cleaning checklist for a two-bedroom apartment.” The company adds that the more specific your instructions are, the better the results.
Once you've created a list in Keep, you can paste it into a blank note to save and edit it.

A quick note: the feature is free for Pixel users, but if you have another Android device, it's only available to Google One AI Premium subscribers or Workspace Labs users.
To test the feature, I told Keep about an upcoming trip to New York City and asked for a list of must-see attractions. It returned a list of typical tourist spots, many of which were already on my schedule. I tried again, told Keep I was traveling in September, and it added a specific festival happening the week I'd be there.

When I asked for a packing list, I got general item suggestions, but when I asked for a list for a September trip, the answer changed to take into account typical late-summer New York weather.
Google acknowledges that this feature “isn't always right.” Users can give feedback about the listings that Keep creates for them. They can like it if they find it helpful, or they can like it if they find it unhelpful, wrong, or unsafe. In the latter case, they're given a chance to explain what went wrong.
