The vice president of US JD Vance announced on Friday that he will accompany the “High Rank” American delegation in Greenland.
On Monday, the island was said to have flew Usha Vance’s politician wife and Donald Trump’s advisor’s wife to Donald Trump for national security. Some reports have assumed it was a “private trip,” but Vance appears to have dispelled doubts in a statement Tuesday.
Greenland and the United States. JD Vance flies to the island
Vance said in a recording released on social media that his wife Usha’s visit was so excited that he didn’t want to play very well with her, and that he decided to join her.
The Vice President visited Space Force soldiers stationed on the island and announced that he would “see what’s going on in Greenland security.”
– Many foreign countries threatened Greenland, using their territory and waterways to intimidate the United States, threatened Canada, and of course the residents of Greenland. So we see how things are – Vance said.
He declared that he and President Donald Trump “want to revive the safety of Greenlanders.”
-Unfortunately, both American and Danish leaders have ignored Greenland for too long. It was bad for Greenland, but it was bad for the safety of the whole world. We believe we can do the problem in a different direction – Vance said.
In an official statement issued later, the White House announced that Vance’s visit (with Usha’s wife accompanying) will be made in place of a previously announced visit to the US delegation under the guidance of a second woman.
The delegation was to include, among other things, the US presidential adviser to Energy Minister Chris Wright and National Security Mike Waltz.
The official goal of that visit was to visit objects related to Greenland’s heritage and see the annual dog sled race. The American delegation was not officially invited to the island.
“Unprecedented provocation.” Denmark and Greenland Sunder Authorities
The announced visit of the US delegation in Greenland was received critically by the Greenland and Danish authorities. According to the PO premiere of Mute B. Egede in Greenland, the visit of the American delegation is “interference” in the country’s internal affairs.
The inspiring journey was also explained by political commentator Ekstra Bladet, who called her “unprecedented provocation.”
According to Hans Enguera, statements about individual travel and dog sled racing are “a ridiculous translation.” On March 29th, Vance is to watch the Avannata Qimussersua dog sled race, an important event for Greenland’s identity.
Engel said the US did not send Mike Waltz to Greenland for no reason. – He is a great advisor and a hard player. He said to send strong signal to the Greenland and Danish politicians if they appointed it.
In the opinion of journalists, the arrival of the delegation when a new government was created after the election was “it’s just rude.”
Engel has no doubts – the visit called Private is “American escalation of conflict through Greenland.” “The countdown to a major conflict in Greenland has begun,” we read.
Greenland’s upset. Visiting US delegations in the background
Experts from Klaus Mattizen of the Royal Danish Academy of Defense reached out for even stronger words.
He compared the American journey to the Crimea situation before the illegal annexation of Russia. “American politicians come to the crowd and try to make Greenland Americans. They promise that everything (at the time – eds) is much better,” he commented on Facebook.
The political science professor then said he drude Dahlerup in “Dagens Nyheter.”
“It looks like a trip at first glance. It turns out that everything was organized to show that the Greenlanders love Donald Trump,” Darup was quoted.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly said in recent weeks that the US wants to acquire Greenland.
