Twelve bodies have been found at a ski resort in Georgia. They were in a secret room above an Indian restaurant. Police have begun an investigation and an autopsy is expected to be conducted soon.
Twelve bodies were found at the Gudauri ski resort in the Caucasus Mountains of the Mtskheta-Muchaneti region. Georgia's interior ministry said in a written statement that the body was lying in a closed room next to an Indian restaurant.

“The bodies of 12 people, probably employed at the same establishment, were found in a second-floor bedroom of an Indian restaurant in Gudauri. No signs of violence were found,” the ministry said.
The statement said 11 of the victims were foreign nationals and only one was from Georgia.

A generator was also found in the same room, and had been running the day before the center lost power due to bad weather. According to preliminary and unconfirmed information, the generator may have been involved in the deaths of 12 people.
Investigative operations are underway and specialist criminologists are working at the scene. People who work for the ministry and came into contact with restaurant employees are also being investigated.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death. Criminal proceedings were initiated on the basis of manslaughter.
