Halloween is a holiday that is becoming more and more popular every year in Poland. It is also customary for children in different costumes to collect sweets.
A boy from Lipki Wielkie, near Gorzów Wielkopolski (Lubsz County), also took part in a similar match on Thursday. However, in this case, tragedy could have occurred.

A child found a metal nail in a chocolate candy given to him by a neighbor. The incident was publicized on social media by the boy's mother.
– The children collected candies (…). My Igor had claws and his teeth were about to break. It's a small nail, and I don't even want to think about what would happen if I swallowed it. I am devastated and am losing faith in people. I couldn't sleep all night because of this situation. Residents are in shock. After all, we live in a small community and everyone knows each other. You don't want to believe how much evil exists among humans, the woman said in an interview with gorzowianin.com.
Local authorities commented on the dangerous situation and urged residents to be careful.
“Check out the candy kids collected on Halloween today, because a psychopath made a great joke. Only such jokes can have a tragic ending. What was this person thinking? That’s what he did,” we read on Facebook. Lipki Wielkie village page.

The boy's mother reported the incident to police.・We received a report from a child's guardian about sweets with nails attached. Police will investigate whether there is a direct risk of loss of life or serious health damage. Grzegorz Jaroszewicz, head of the Gorzów Wielkopolski city police headquarters, told local media that officers would look for those responsible for the incident.
This type of crime is punishable by up to three years in prison.
The website gorzowianin.com reports that similar incidents have occurred in other towns in the country. In Pilzice (Western Pomeranian Voivodeship), needles were found in sweets, and in Kościyan (Greater Poland Voivodeship), children found pins in sweets.
