Two Algerian citizens boarded a Bahamian-flagged ship and headed to the police port. In Poland, they were stopped by Szczecin border guards.
On January 16, a Bahamian shipping agent alerted Border Patrol about two blind passengers — free riders — hiding in hard-to-reach areas of the ship.
“The Pomeranian Border Guard Division sent a patrol and pursuit unit SG-216 to the anchorage of the port of Świnoujście, where the ship was waiting to sail to its destination. The duty of the officers was to accompany the cargo carrier,” says the border guard. Guard.
Border guards arrested free border guards
The free riders were arrested by Szczecin border guards at the police station. After the arrest, the foreign nationals stated that they would submit an application for international protection. “Further measures will be taken in connection with this case,” reports the Border Guard.
