HEB is further expanding in the Dallas area with plans to open a store in Irving.
The grocer announced plans Wednesday to acquire land in Irving and open the first HEB store in the Las Colinas area, scheduled to open in late 2026 at the intersection of Interstate 635 and Olympus Boulevard, in front of the former Fry's Electronics store.
HEB owns Central Market and Joe V's stores in Dallas, but this will be the HEB brand's first store in Dallas County. The company also owns more than a dozen properties for further development throughout the region.

The San Antonio-based company said construction is expected to begin later this year.
It's been nearly two years since HEB began expanding in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with its first store in Frisco. The company has already opened a second store in Frisco, as well as other stores in the area, including Plano, McKinney, Allen and Mansfield, with plans in place for cities including Melissa, Prosper and Rockwall.
The store is expected to create around 700 jobs.
The move comes as part of HEB's plan to expand its affordable grocery store chain to Irving by opening a new Joe V's Smart Shop by the end of 2025. The 57,920-square-foot Joe V's Smart Shop project is estimated to cost more than $10 million, according to filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
