Air disaster in Honduras. Seven people are dead
Lanhs Lanhs passenger planes fell into the Caribbean shortly after they began at the airport. There were 14 passengers and three crew members on the machine. At least 12 people were killed. Among the deaths are musicians well known as foreigners.
The tragedy took place on Monday evening local time on the Caribbean island of Roatan, near the Honduras coast. According to the fire service, the passenger seat of Jetstream 32, which belongs to the local Ran line, fell into the sea shortly after it began at the airport.
There were 17 passengers and three crew members. Franklin Borjas, the head of the local fire service, first confirmed in an interview with the Reuters agency that seven people were killed and 10 people were hospitalized.
Shortly afterwards, Honduras authorities reported at least 12 people had died.

Honduras Minister of Transport has announced that the aircraft wreck has been found about a kilometre away from the island’s coast. The Reuters Agency reports that among the deaths is renowned folk musician Garifna Aurelio Martinez Suzo, who has previously sat in the National Assembly. Local media reports that Americans and French women, except for Honduras, also flew there. There were also two minors.

The cause of the disaster is still unknown, but Mayor Ratan told media that it was not weather because of normal weather conditions at the time.
Roatan is the largest island on Bay Island, off the coast of Honduras. Famous for its rich coral reefs, it is one of the most popular tourist instructions. Captain Franklin Borjas, a local firefighter, said the rescue operations had hindered highly unfavourable weather conditions that day.
– Access to the accident scene was difficult as there was a 30 metre rock there – he admitted. He added: “Divers supporting rescue operations had zero visibility.”
