IMWM warns of hazardous conditions associated with snowfall. A yellow alert is in effect in several southern counties of Poland.
Meteorologists of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management have issued warnings of the first level on a three-degree scale.
IMWM first level warnings – heavy snow
Yellow warnings are in effect in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in the following counties: Gorlice, Nowy Sach, Nowy Sach, Limanowski, Nowy Targ, Tatra.
In these areas, snowfall is predicted, which will increase the snow layer by 10 to 15 cm, in places in Podhale – about 20 cm. The warning will remain in effect until the end of the day.

What are IMWM's first class warnings?
Conditions are expected to favor the occurrence of hazardous meteorological phenomena that can cause material losses and threaten health and life. Doing business under the influence of these factors is difficult and dangerous. Problems caused by activities in the hazardous area, including delays due to traffic disruptions, disruptions to outside events or possible cancellations. Caution is advised, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
