When the weather is monotonous, as it has been for many days, more interesting things happen that we cannot see. Such was the case on Saturday morning when a long line of clouds appeared over a part of Poland. It was visible in the satellite image.
It was cloudy almost everywhere in Poland on Saturday. As the host of tvnmeteo.pl Tomasz Wasilewski on TVN24 in “You stand up and know”, the south-eastern part of our country “looks very mysterious and amazing” in the satellite image.
Until 9 o'clock in the morning, it was possible to draw a line of several hundred kilometers from space, which stretches from Podkarpackie, through the Lublin region, to the western part of Ukraine.
The clouds cast a shadow
As the presenter explained, this strip, which looks like a space between clouds, is a shadow that casts one layer of cloud on another.
– To put it simply, we have two neighboring cloud regions. One is higher and the other is lower. When the sun's rays hit the corner at this time of the day, a shadow appears in this fault, between one layer of cloud and another, he explained.
As Vasilevsky admitted, “it is rare to see shapes in satellite images that appear only in specific situations” and are “very briefly” visible. – After a moment, the sun will be higher on the horizon and this shadow will disappear, – he added.
